Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC)

The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture (IVS) was founded in November 2016 in alignment with the Quality Assurance (QA) framework developed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan. Committed to maintaining and enhancing the quality of academic and research activities at IVS, the QEC is entrusted with the responsibility to formulate and execute Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) practices, including Self-Assessment, at both program and institutional levels. These practices are geared towards realizing the university's vision, mission, and goals, fostering increased compatibility on local and global fronts.

At the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (IVS), we are committed to fostering a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and academic excellence. QEC works to strengthen institutional quality assurance practices in alignment with the standards and guidelines of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), while recognizing the distinctive academic and creative environment of IVS.

Through systematic self-assessment, stakeholder feedback, evidence-based evaluation, and continuous enhancement of academic and institutional processes, QEC supports IVS in maintaining and further strengthening the quality of its educational programmes.

Our goal is to ensure that quality remains an integral part of academic planning, teaching, learning, assessment, research, and institutional development.

  • To bring our educational standards at par with recognized international standards.
  • To implement HEC criteria for higher education and promote quality culture.
  • To establish quality assurance system to fulfill requirement of all stake holders.
  • To take measures for capacity building of faculty members and staff through training.
  • To review the quality standards by auditing academic standards and quality of teaching and learning.

  • Instilling public confidence by safeguarding the standard of academic awards and ensuring assured and enhanced quality.
  • Conducting systematic internal reviews to assess academic standards and the quality of teaching and learning in each subject area.
  • Facilitating external reviews of programs and the institution.
  • Coordinating and liaising with QAA-HEC to implement HEC’s guidelines on quality assurance.
  • Coordinating with accrediting departments and accreditation councils to secure timely accreditation for programs.
  • Active participation in meetings of all statutory bodies.
  • Capacity building for all internal stakeholders in QA-related activities.
  • Ensuring institutional alignment with the National Qualifications Framework of Pakistan across associate degree programs, bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels.
  • Developing and enhancing quality assurance processes to affirm the maintenance of provision quality and award standards.
  • Nurturing curriculum, subject, and faculty/staff development, alongside supporting research and other scholarly activities.
  • Developing and improving procedures for student involvement in quality assurance activities.

About CIEC Visit:

The Charter Institute and Evaluation Committee (CIEC) conducted its 10th round visit to Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture on 17–18 February 2026 as part of the institutional quality assurance process.

During the visit, the committee reviewed academic governance, quality assurance practices, institutional policies, and infrastructure. Meetings were held with management, faculty, staff, and students, along with a review of relevant academic and administrative documentation.

The visit reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining high standards in art and design education.
