Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture
   
 

 



The Marium Abdulla Library was established in 1990, when the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture itself came into being. The library houses around 9500 books including 950 dissertations based on research work carried out by the students every year, over 10,000 slides on all subjects which are being taught in the school. Library also has a subscription of over 30 international and local journals/magazines.

The OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) is available for students, faculty and other users.

There are computers being available with Internet Wi-fi connectivity and e-mail facility for students and faculty of the school.

IVS Library Newsletter is circulated periodically to all members and library users.

Library supports recreational programmes held in the school from time to time.

Supports IVS Publications and their supplies to individuals and organizations

Organizes book exhibitions with Publishers and Book-sellers, making inexpensive high quality books available to users of the library and teachers.

Education UK Resource Corner providing information for institutions profile, postgraduate study in the UK, students, faculty and other users can obtain such material from the library.

Library is open for students, faculty and outsiders from 8.30 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. on all working days (from Monday to Friday) whereas, on Saturday from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. For more details please see LIBRARY USER’S GUIDELINES.

External (students, faculty) are advised to bring letter of reference from their institutions if they want to use the resources of Marium Abdulla Library. IVS Library does not have enough seating capacity to entertain a large group of outside students/faculty at a time. For this reason large groups must inform librarian in advance through telephone (0092-35861039/326) or e-mail library@indusvalley.edu.pk so that arrangements can be made before the groups’ arrival.

The IVS was granted an independent charter by the Government of Sindh in June 1994, thereby empowering
it to award its own degrees. It was the fourth private institution of higher learning in Pakistan to be given degree awarding status.
Admission to the School is strictly based on merit as determined by an aptitude test, an interview process and a weightage criteria.
